Hooi Zhong is a Malaysian artist and educator currently based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. With prior experience in computer graphics, Hooi Zhong has deep passion for traditional techniques like printmaking, painting, journaling and calligraphy, which she frequently crosses over with modern art-making processes. She finds sanctuary in these time consuming yet imperfect methods, because flaws stand so beautifully amongst mass produced and near-perfect visuals.
As an educator, she is also passionate about encouraging creative self-expression in the new generation, while aiming to equip students with modern artistic skills that often cross over with technology. To view compilation of students' works, click here.
